February 4, 2011

Karol L. Johnson DeMaris passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 after a very brief and unexpected illness. Karol was only 52 years old and had lived in Russellville over 30 years.
She is survived by a loving family including her mother, Roberta “Bobbie” Johnson; her son, Joshua DeMaris; and two granddaughters, Aubrey DeMaris and Jessica DeMaris, all of Russellville; two brothers, Steve Johnson, of Anchorage, Alaska and Ken Johnson, of Utah; also extended family in Russellville, Alaska, Oregon and Utah.
Karol was a loving and giving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.  People from Russellville may remember her as the smiling friend and cashier at Northside Market, or as the daughter of the late James N. Johnson of Russellville, the founder of the original Speedy Pig Restaurant.
Karol had just recently completed her degree at Wallace State as a Pharmaceutical Technician, graduating with honors.
Karol will always be loved and remembered for her loving and giving qualities and always willing to help not only people, but animals as well.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Russellville.  Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.

Anyone wishing to send flowers or gifts may in lieu decide to make a donation to the church or to P.A.W.S. or the humane society.
We will all miss Karol greatly and are thankful for the time she blessed our lives.
