Vina seeks first win

VINA — It has been a tough season for Vina, but the Red Devils have a good shot at picking up their first win of the year when they travel to Waterloo Friday night.

Both team enter the game with 0-6 records, which means one of the squads will pick up its first region victory of the season.

Vina’s offense struck early against Phillips last week but was unable to retain momentum.

If the Red Devils can get rolling on offense this week, they will probably be able to exceed their season average of 9.2 points per game as the Waterloo defense has surrendered an average of 52.3 points per game.

Vina’s defense can also improve its season average of 32.3 points against. Waterloo has scored only 6.3 points per game.
