Vina's playoff run ends 43-14

HACKLEBURG – Vina's trip to the playoffs ended after only one game as the Red Devils fell to Hackleburg 43-14.
Hackleburg quarterback Ryan Bullock opened the scoring with a 17-yard run with 1:21 remaining in the first quarter to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead.
Trevor Holland added to the lead with a 46-yard touchdown run moments later. Joel Ingle scored a pair of touchdowns on runs of 25 yards and 24 yards to push the Hackleburg advantage to 33-0 by halftime.
Ingle scored on a 26-yard run in the third quarter.
Joseph Barksdale scored the Red Devils' first touchdown of the night when he recovered a Hackleburg fumble in the Panthers' end zone. Brent Townsend found Ethan McInnis on the 2-point conversion play to cut the deficit to 40-8 with 8:53 remaining in the third quarter.
Bullock increased the lead with a 30-yard field goal.
Townsend capped the scoring with a 26-yard run with 2:12 remaining in the game.
The Red Devils rushed for 26 yards on 21 attempts. They had 122 passing yards.
Brent Townsend, who replaced Morgan McCarley at quarterback following an injury, completed 7-of-16 passes for 99 yards and one interception.
Nick Schmittou caught five passes for 50 yards.
