Tigers host Kentucky

By Staff
After suffering its first loss of the season at Arkansas last week, the Auburn football team returns home for an Southeastern Conference showdown against Kentucky tonight.
The Tigers have won 15 straight games against the Wildcats with the last loss coming 43 years ago.
Auburn needs to win this game to keep pace with Alabama and LSU a the top of the SEC West Division standings.
Despite the slow start against Arkansas last week, the Tigers are ranked fifth in the nation in total offense with 489.8 yards per game, seventh in rushing offense (251.8 ypg) and 10th in scoring offense (38.3 points per game).
Senior running back Ben Tate needs only 128 more rushing yards to move into fifth place in school history. He is averaging 120.7 yards per game and has four 100-yard games so far this season.
Quarterback Chris Todd has passed for 12 touchdowns this season, surpassing the team combined team mark – seven – of touchdown passes last season.
Todd's favorite targets are Darvin Adams and Terrell Zachary, who have combined to catch 40 passes for 716 yards and nine touchdowns. Their combined career totals before the start of the season was five catches for 42 yards and no touchdowns.
Kentucky (2-3, 0-3) is averaging 25.2 points per game and is allowing 26.8 points.
Auburn is allowing 27.2 points and scoring and average of 38.3 points.
