Shopping center expansions open today

By Staff
Jonathan Willis
The Russellville Marketplace shopping center will open today as it has for more than two years.
But there will be several noticeable differences, including a new business and an expansion to another.
Burke's Outlet has expanded to 24,480 square foot from 12,528 square foot. The larger store will introduce new departments and assortments that include a full family footwear department, expanded home selection, which includes domestics and greater breadth and depth in all apparel categories. When fully staffed the store will employ approximately 12 associates and a store manager.
A grand opening celebration will kick off today. Promotions will include a $5 gift card giveaway to the first 300 shoppers, a drawing for a $100 shopping spree and a weekend coupon. Burke's Outlet is part of a fast growing chain with more than 425 stores across the region.
Saturday's activities will also include the opening of Dollar Tree, a Fortune 500 company that operates more than 3,700 stores in 48 states offering a changing mix of house wares, toys, seasonal items, food, health and beauty aids, gifts, and books — most priced at $1 or less.
