PHIL CAMPBELL – Bo Culver is hoping to turn a struggling Phil Campbell program into a contender during his first season as the Bobcats' head coach.
He will have a tough challenge on his hands as he takes his team to East Lawrence Friday for the season opener.
Last year the Bobcats stumbled against the Eagles, and suffered a 20-0 loss.
This year, Culver will try to have Phil Campbell competitive as it tries to get off to a strong start before area play begins with a trip to Tanner next week.
A win would boost confidence for the program, which has won only three games since its last playoff berth in 2005.
The Bobcats lost several players off last year's team through either graduation or mass defections.
The group that returned believed in Phil Campbell's potential, and they look to make a statement against East Lawrence.
