Hoover James Baggett

Hoover James Baggett, 78, of Phil Campbell, Ala. passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. Baggett was a native of Franklin County and member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell. He was a retired machinist from Borg Warner.
Funeral services were held August 21, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Burial followed in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Maudie Miller Baggett, of Phil Campbell; children, Glen Fuller, of Nashville, Tenn., Terry Fuller, of Rockford, Ill., Debbie Fuller Austin, of Jacksonville, Fla., Nancy Fuller Runge, Alexandria, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harvey and Nettie Baggett; and sister, Ora May Cook.
William Thoms Hooker

William Thomas Hooker, Sr., 81, of Decatur, Ala., died Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Tut-Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville.
Mr. Hooker was a native of Franklin County and a member of the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Marshall Space Flight Center.
The funeral service will be Saturday, August 22, 2009, at 11 a.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
Survivors include children, Carl Hooker, of Decatur, Ala. and Willam T. Hooker, Jr., of Hartselle, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fayrene M. Hooker; and his parents, J.D. and Ruth Hooker.
Howard J. Kimbrough

Howard J. Kimbrough, 90, of Russellville, Ala. passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Burns Nursing Home.
Mr. Kimbrough lived all his life in Franklin County and was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He was a life insurance salesman for several years and married to Gladys Bartlett Kimbrough for 66 years.
Funeral service will be Sunday, August 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville, with Rev. Phil Kimbrough officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, in Colbert County. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Survivors include sons, Benny Kimbrough and wife, Sue, of Moulton, Rev. Kenneth Kimbrough and wife, Sandra, of Phil Campbell; daughters, Doris Prince, of Russellville, Judy Pounders and husband, Troy, of Moulton; daughter-in-law, Doris Kimbrough, of Russellville; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kimbrough, of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary bearers will be great-grandsons and Rev. Tim Smith.
He was preceded in death by wife, Gladys Bartlett Kimbrough; parents, James and Corneller Kimbrough; son, Edwin Kimbrough; son-in-law, Joe Prince; great-grandchild,
Keanan Pounders; brothers and sisters, Lonnie Kimbrough, Clifton Kimbrough, Luther Kimbrough, Tommie Kimbrough, Walter Kimbrough, Ollie Kimbrough, Paskel Kimbrough, Mattie Suggs and Lattee Fretwell.

Raymond Douglas Searcy, 70, of Russellville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2009 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Funeral services were held Aug. 19, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Wayne West and Bro. Don McGuire officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virgie Searcy and son, Douglas Howard Searcy.
He is survived by his wife, Freida Searcy; children, Sandra Farmer and husband, Donald, Pam Parsons and Mark Vandiver, Timothy Searcy, and Timothy Ray Searcy; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Hall and husband, Vernon; step-children, Darrel Malone, Dewayne Malone, Kip Malone, Derinda Malone, Debbie Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Charles Bates, Lloyd Jeffreys, Donald Farmer, Nathan Searcy, Kalan McNatt, Kyle McNatt. Honorary pallbearers were Dan Wilson, Bill Hamilton, George Bates and male members of Limerock Church of Christ.
Linda Graham Jackson

Linda Graham Jackson, 50, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roger Martin officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Ruby Staggs Crofford; sisters, Judy Itter and Glenda Crofford; and brother, Mark Crofford.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Jackson; daughter, Mandy Winstead and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Brittany Winstead and Ethan Winstead; brother, James Crofford; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rev. James Wallace Hutcheson

Rev. James Wallace "Hutch" Hutcheson, 82, of Hartselle, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel in Hartselle. The Rev. Phil Waldrep and Rev. James McCullar will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be Monday, Aug. 24 at 1:15 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
He was born October 17, 1926 in Phil Campbell to Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Hutcheson and Minnie Mae Morrison. He was retired from Thompson Caterpillar Tractor, where he received numerous training certifications including a Doctor of Motors. He was an Associate Pastor of Stoney Acres Baptist Church in Decatur. He served in the US Army and was a graduate of Howard College and Calhoun Community College with degrees in Christian service.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma Newell Hutcheson; two daughters, Sandra Hutcheson James, of Decatur, and Rita Hutcheson Cobbs and husband, Dr. Jerry, of Hartselle; five grandchildren, Roger L. James, Jr., of Decatur, Amanda James Argo and husband, Jason, of Somerville, Garrett Cobbs, Joel Cobbs, M. Ethan Cobbs, all of Hartselle; sisters, Gladys Hutcheson, Janice Holcomb, Julia Vinson, Marge Pounders, Voncile Davis, all of Phil Campbell, Audra Watson, of Hobart, Ind. and Imagene Wood, of Lake City, Fla.; brother, Odis Hutcheson, of Phil Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lowell Hutcheson, Norman Hutcheson, Lou Ray Hutcheson and Owen Hutcheson; and son-in-law, Roger L. James, Sr.
Honorary pallbearers serving at the funeral will be Steve Estes, Bryan Schmid, Freddie Sapp, Howard Martin, Robert Newell, and Hulon Garrison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be sent to Hospice of the Valley in Decatur, in appreciation of their staff and Respite volunteer, Mrs. Carolyn Chenault.
Elsie Daily Black

Elsie Daily Black, 74, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Russellville Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Grady Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Belgreen Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Black; son, David Black; daughter-in-law, Wanda Black; parents, William and Lillian Daily; brother, Clifton Daily; sisters, Polly Landers and Christine Castleberry.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Black and wife, Joyce, Wayne Black, Danny Black and wife, Vickie; daughter-in-law, Julie Black, all of Russellville; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; family and friends too numerous to list.
She was born Aug. 19, 1935 in Franklin County. She was a member of Frankfort Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from Riverbend Center for Mental Health as a cook for Sunrise Lodge. Elsie lived life sharing her love for gardening, cooking, and quilting with her family and friends.
She was a loving mother and momaw to many. She will dearly be missed by all who were blessed to call her friend.
Freddie George Daniels, Sr.

Freddie George Daniels, Sr., 84, of Russellville, Ala., died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Burns Nursing Home.
Mr. Daniels was a native of Tennessee and had lived in Russellville for the past five years. He was a retired salesman and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended the Church of God.
The funeral service will be Monday, August 24, 2009, at 11 a.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, with burial in East Franklin Cemetery in Phil Campbell. Officiating will be Roger Risner. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
He is survived by his sons, Ivy George, of Brunswick, Ga., Jerry Woods, of Russellville, Ala., James Daniels, of Huntsville, Ala., Larry Daniels, of Coldwater, Mich., Fred Daniels, Jr., of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Rose Clara Quick, of Ohio, Mary Ann Beach, of Brunswick, Ga., Brenda Caldwell, of Phil Campbell, Ala., Bonita Dixon, of Huntsville, Ala., Sandy Daniels, of Marshall, Mich.; numerous grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Woods, James Daniels, Sr., Stan Dixon, Fred Daniels, Jr., and Michael Dixon.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Daniels, Jr., Matthew Daniels, and Brennan Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Neely Daniels; mother, Ida Lou Woodley; wife, Thelma J. Daniels; sons, David Daniels and Joseph Daniels; and grandson, Jason Woods.
