Brothers arrested on meth charges

By Staff
Jonathan Willis
Two Franklin County men are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine after authorities said they found a meth lab during a search at a Phil Campbell residence over the weekend.
Michael Lee Hughes, 46, 138 Bonner St., Phil Campbell, and his brother, Timothy Hughes, 40, 210 Brown St., Phil Campbell, were both arrested and charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance.
Authorities said warrants are issued for a third man involved in the case, Christopher Norman Trapp, 48, 2357 Broad St., Phil Campbell.
Investigators said the search was conducted at Trapp's residence and he ran away while authorities were taking inventory of items confiscated.
Investigators said they found chemicals as well as remnants of a lab.
A DEA-approved HazMat team was called in to clean up the lab.
The brothers are being held in the Franklin County Jail.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Trapp is asked to call the sheriff's office at 332-8820.
