One injured in PC, one-car accident

PHIL CAMPBELL – A woman was injured in an accident early Friday morning when the vehicle that she was driving left the road and struck a tree on Camp Road in Phil Campbell authorities said.
Officials with the Phil Campbell Police Department said that Shelia Tidwell, of Phil Campbell, was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 7 a.m.
Merrell Potter, Chief of the Phil Campbell Police Department, said Tidwell was injured when the 2003 4-Runner that she was driving left the road, struck a tree, and burst into flames.
Tidwell was transported to Russellville Hospital by the Phil Campbell Rescue Squad, her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Several passersby stopped to help Tidwell out of the burning vehicle before emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
"We had several good Samaritans stop to help Ms. Tidwell out of her burning vehicle." Potter said. "It was fantastic that people were willing to help her. She's a lucky woman. She really had someone looking out for her."
