Bobcats rout ACA

The Phil Campbell Bobcats opened their 2007 baseball season in impressive fashion on Monday, rolling to a 12-1 win over three-time defending Class 1A state champion American Christian Academy.
Jonathan Dill (1-0) earned the win for the Bobcats, striking out six in five strong innings.
Steven Lacey and Korey Pounders each had two hits to lead Phil Campbell at the plate. Dill and Adam Mitchell each had a double.
In other recent action:
Vina 7 Decatur Heritage 5
Max Weeks had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Red Devils (2-2) in Saturday's win.
Paul Wilkins also had two hits for Vina, and Randy Barnes pitched three innings to earn the win.
Belgreen 3 Tremont (MS) 2
James Bates drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday, lifting the Bulldogs to their fourth straight win.
Kalan McNatt scored the go-ahead run for Belgreen and also earned the complete game win.
The Bulldogs (4-4) later saw their win streak end with a loss to Center Hill (MS).

Justin Gardner struck out nine batters in a complete game three-hitter and Jessie Edwards delivered the game-winning RBI for the Bulldogs in their final at bat on Friday.
Marty Britton went 3-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Belgreen.
Red Bay 163, Baldwin (MS) 185, Tishomingo County (MS) 188, Mooreville (MS) 238
Grant Fancher and Trey Bolding each shot 40 on Monday to share medalist honors for Red Bay at Shiloh Ridge Golf Course in Corinth, MS.
Casey Keeton posted a 41 for the Tigers, and Chris Frame shot 42. Ethan Davis shot 48 for Red Bay, which was scheduled to host Russellville on Tuesday.
Russellville Black 159, Shoals Christian 164, Deshler 188, Russellville Gold 213
John Seal led Russellville Black with a 38 on Monday at Twin Pines.
Brian Brown shot 39 for the Golden Tigers. Shoals Christian's Ben Wood shot 37 to earn medalist honors.
