A Russellville man was arrested over the weekend and charged with assault after allegedly stabbing his son in the neck.
James Keith Presley, 34, of 400 Oak Hills Drive, was taken into custody after the sheriff's department responded to a call about a possible stabbing in the Oak Hill Subdivision Saturday.
He was charged with domestic violence and second-degree assault, Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said.
Presley allegedly cut the back of his stepson's neck during an argument that evening. Drugs and alcohol are believed to be involved in the incident, authorities said.
The 20-year-old victim's injuries were not life threatening, Plott added.
Presley remains in the Franklin County Jail pending a $7,500 bond.
