The Russellville School Board members were recognized during the regular school board meeting held Thursday afternoon at the Central Office.
Each board member was given a mug in recognition of their hard work and dedication to the welfare of students, faculty and staff. January has been designated as School Board Appreciation month in Alabama.
After the presentation, the board meeting began. The board voted to approve the financial statement for December 2006. All invoices totaled $56,002.74, and payroll for December was $1.3 million.
The board approved the facility use request from Police Chief Chris Hargett to use the RHS Driver's Education Range as to conduct a Proactive Driving Training class on June 12-22.
The board approved the members of RHS and RMS SADD to attend the Alabama SADD Conference in Birmingham March 2-3.
The board approved the Textbook Committee for the 2006-07 school year. This list consists of teachers and parents from each school. The areas of consideration for this year are fine arts and foreign language.
The board discussed revising the Policy Manual, and approved personnel recommendations for substitutes, and one transfer with compensation increase.
The next Russellville School Board meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 22 at 3:30 pm at the Central Office.
