Water improvements on the way in Franklin Co.

The Franklin County Water Service Authority has filed a preapplicatiion with USDA-Rural Development for funds to construct water system improvements.
The proposed system improvements consist of a 16-inch water main from the New Horseshoe Bend Water Treatment Plant running eastwardly along County Road 12 to the intersection with Alabama Hwy.187. Also, the proposed improvements include a 500,000-gallon water storage tank near the intersection of Alabama Hwy. 172 and Overton Farm Road and a 1,000,000-gallon water storage tank near the intersection of Franklin County Road 16 with Alabama Hwy. 187.
A public meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 3 p.m. at the office of the Franklin Co. Water Service Authority, located at 12951 Alabama Hwy. 187 in Belgreen, to acquaint citizens of the area with the overall project.
