Red Bay teen arrested after high-speed chase

RED BAY – A teenager was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase Sunday.
Eric Vernon Hudson, 19, of 607 9th Ave. North in Red Bay, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment after leading police on a pursuit Red Bay Police Chief Pat Creel said.
Red Bay Police received several phone calls about a black Camaro driving recklessly and found the suspected car at a local convenience store.
Upon being spotted, the driver fled and the chase was on from there, according police reports.
Hudson was clocked at speeds up to 100 miles per hour during the chase.
Once he was in custody, Hudson was also issued citations for eight other violations including no tag, attempting to elude, driving without first obtaining a license, speeding, reckless driving, no seat belt, no insurance and running a stop sign, Creel said.
Hudson was taken to the Franklin County Jail, and later released on a $300 cash bond.
Reckless driving is a misdemeanor, but Hudson will have to appear in court on the charge and will have to pay the tickets for the other eight violations.
