Home invasion prompts six arrests

SPRUCE PINE-Franklin County Sheriff's deputies arrested six people connected to a home invasion Tuesday night.
Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on Highway 22. The property owner had one suspect held at the scene while another suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived. James Carbine, 325 Trade Street, Florence, was arrested on the scene, Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said.
Carbine was released on a $2,00 bond.
Further investigation lead to the execution of a search warrant on Pace Lane in Spruce Pine. The department made five arrests while executing the warrant, and found approximately $3,500 in stolen items. Numerous narcotics were also found at the residence, Plott said.
Wesley Wayne Killen, 28, 909 Hwy. 61, Russellville was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and receiving stolen property. Killen was released on a $7,000 bond.
Tony Wayne Brewer, 43, 909 Hwy. 61, Russellville, was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance first, possession of marijuana second, criminal trespassing, and receiving stolen property. Brewer remains in the Franklin County Jail pending a $7,000 bond.
Teresa Hernandez, 45, 909 Hwy. 61, Russellville, was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance first, possession of marijuana second, and receiving stolen property first. Hernandez remains in the Franklin County County Jail pending a $7,000 bond.
Ruby Ann Duty, 29, 1538 Hwy. 13, Phil Campbell, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property first. Duty remains in the Franklin County Jail pending a $3,500 bond.
Jenny Lucille Killen, 21, 909 Hwy. 61, Russellville, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property first. J. Killen was released on a $3,500 bond.
Among the items recovered from various Franklin County cases are a 12-foot trailer, a John Deere Lawn mower, and televisions, Plott said.
