Get Medicare advice at city hall today

The Medicare Advantage Program will hold seminar for better understanding of Medicare Part C benefits today, Jan. 12, at the Russellville City Hall.
Question and answer sessions will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
Medicare recipients will receive one on one counseling during the seminar so that they will understand their benefits under Part C, Tammie Brown, Medicare Advantage Representative said.
"Part C is a no premium, low co-pay plan that anyone on Medicare qualifies for," Brown said.
Medicare Part C is designed to pick up the 20 percent not covered by Medicare Part A or B, as well as the yearly doctor and hospital deductible for Part A or B, Brown said.
"We have seniors out there faced with the decision to pay their supplemental insurance premiums and buying necessities," Brown said.
Commercial supplemental health coverage can run anywhere from $150 to $400 per month. With Part C, there is no need to pay the premiums. Instead, the senior will pay a low co-pay when they go to the doctor," Brown said. "We can help seniors save money that can go back into their home budgets."
All Medicare recipients are encouraged to attend the seminar.
Family members are also welcome with the recipient, Brown said.
