FCT now 50 cents on newsstand

Staff Reports
Customers of the Franklin County Times probably noticed an unexpected surprise at the newsstand this morning.
Starting Wednesday, The Times has reduced its newsstand price from 75 cents to 50 cents.
The reduction is a way of saying thanks to our loyal customers who have helped make this newspaper a success.
"We've given this a lot of thought over the past few months and we decided the price reduction would be a great addition to some of the changes we're making with our newspaper," Times Publisher, Jason Cannon said.
In the past three months, The Times had added a features page and columnist on Fridays, a locally written food page on Sunday and most recently, they have added renowned sportswriter Paul Finebaum to their sports staff.
"Our readers are the foundation of our business," Cannon said. "We want them to be part of our continued growth and what better way to do that than offer them a better product at a discounted price."
Cannon said home delivery rates are still the most cost effective way to purchase The Franklin County Times, as each issue averages 37-cents per copy.
The Times also regularly offers home delivery specials, which result in further pricing discounts.
"Our rack customers are very loyal readers and we wanted to thank them for their dedicated readership," Cannon said. "I will always encourage readers to take advantage of our home delivery service, which saves them money, but we are pleased to offer the discount to those who like to use our racks and news dealers."
