The Russellville Police Department is currently investigating a burglary that could cause local cable customers a headache.
Charter Communications' drop box, located at their office at 502 East Saint Clair Street, was burglarized over the Christmas holiday, and the suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of checks from bill-paying customers.
"If you deposited a check at that payment box between the dates of December 22 and 25, your check may have been stolen," Wendy DuBois, Office Operations Manager for Charter Communications in Russellville said. "We advise you to check with your bank as soon as possible to confirm that this check was not cashed."
DuBois said Charter will reimburse any fees imposed by local banks to stop payment on the check before it is cashed by the alleged thief.
If your check was fraudulently cashed, please send proof of bank charges to Charter Communications, 502 East Saint Clair Street, Russellville, AL, 35653. Please mail to Wendy DuBois' attention.
