Junior B. Bates

Junior B. Bates, age 74, of Red Bay, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Bates was born December 13, 1932, in Alabama to Earnest B. and Vera Devaney Bates. He was a bus driver for 40 years and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Site Cemetery.
Pallbeareres were Phillip Fowler, William Mitchell, John Taylor, David Dill, Ryan Boyd and Chad Freeman. Honorary bearers were Horace Lewey, Billy Simmons, Alex Byrd, Jonathan Siler and Paul Boyd.
Mr. Bates is survived by his wife, Patricia Bates; two daughters, Janice Simmons and husband Billy, of Raymond, MS, and Kathy Byrd and husband Alex, of Moscow, TN; three grandchildren, Paul Boyd, Jonathan Siler and Chad Freeman; four great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
Sibyl Hamilton

Sibyl Hamilton, age 81, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2006.
Mrs. Hamilton was a native of Avenger, TX, and a member of First Methodist Church in Russellville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hamilton; and her son, Thomas Hamilton.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Knights of Pythias Cemetery with Rev. Clinton Busler officiating.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her close and very special friend, Earnestine Sizemore.

Jon Campbell McGough

Jon Campbell McGough, age 2, of Haleyville, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Haleyville with Dr. Brent McDougal, Chris Childers, Paul Byrd, Dr. Thomas Howard, Greg Reynolds and Sammy Randolph officiating. Interment was in Thorn Hill Cemetery.
Jon is survived by his parents, Kevin and Anissa McGough; a sister, Maggie McGough; his grandparents, Jean and Kenny McGough, Connie and Mike Ingle, and Arlin and Nancy Campbell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, make memorials to UAB Division Pediatrics-Oncology, 1600 7th Ave., ACC 512, Birmingham, AL 35233.

Celia Ann Trapp

Celia Ann Trapp, age 15 days, of Phil Campbell, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006.
She was the infant daughter of Patrick and Heather Trapp.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Taylor and Bro. Benjamin Phillips officiating. Interment was in East Franklin Cemetery.
Spry Chapel assisted the family.
Shirley Ray Walden

Shirley Mae Ray Walden, age 68, of New Site, MS, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Walden was born August 8, 1938, to John Q. and Junior Bell Wright Morris in Mississippi. She was a factory worker for 30 years. She attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Billy Wilson officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Iuka, MS.
Mrs. Walden is survived by her husband, Roy Walden; three daughters, Marribell Bruun and husband Barry, of El Paso, TX, Beverly Hicks and husband Tommy, of Golden, MS, and Cynthia Skinner and husband Jeff, of Fulton, MS; eight sons, Kenneth Simmons and wife Irene, Gerald Simmons, Robert Simmons and wife Mary, and Marshall Simmons, all of Golden, MS, Ricky Simmons and wife Karen, of Paden, MS, Bobby Ray and wife Becky, of Red Bay, Dale Ray of Tishomingo, MS, and Brian Walden and wife Kim, of Jackson, MS; three sisters, Nelda Carpenter and husband Jerry, of Booneville, MS, Nell Luker of Booneville, MO, and Sue Massey of Belmont, MS; five brothers, Richard Hisaw and Billy Morris, both of Red Bay, Ben Hisaw of Belmont, MS, Charles Morris of Ocala, Florida, and Jimmy Morris of Huntsville; seventeen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
