Cold weather not to my liking

I'm not much of a cold weather guy.
I don't like being cold and I don't like having to wear extra layers to keep from getting cold.
In fact, I'm usually one of the first people to actually say, "I'm cold."
As much as I love football, the weather that comes with it leaves a little to be desired.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like cutting grass. I welcome the break every winter when it dies, but once my shorts and t-shirts hit the back of the drawer, I know my lounging around days are numbered.
Not only does the weather change affect my wardrobe but it also affects my hobbies.
I like to "tinker" – mill around in the yard and do some things in the garage. Once you hit December, it's too cold to do anything like that for a good four months.
Tiffany will tell you, I get bored easily, and when I get bored, there's no telling what I might do. Well, there is one thing she'll tell you I do every time I get bored – drive her crazy.
When I was growing up, I used to like watching "Home Improvement" with Tim Allen. I can relate to that show.
Not that I have an obsession with tools, but when I get idle, nothing is safe. I guess Tiffany can relate to that show, too. I think most husbands and wives can.
You know your husband is bored when he's checking every handle on the kitchen cabinets to see if one is loose.
Or when he goes outside to dive every nail that has worked itself loose on the deck over the past few years.
I've done both of those. Actually, I've done both of those this month.
The good thing about living in Alabama is there is the distinct possibility that you'll find a few 60 and 70 degree warm snaps in the middle of February.
But they don't come often enough to suit my taste. So, once the weather turns back cold – which they say will happen tomorrow – I guess I'll go back to trying to manufacture things to do.
I may soup up Tiffany's crock-pot.
We could make vegetable soup in just a few minutes, then.
