Dakota Edward King

Dakota Edward King, age 20, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006.
Dakota proudly served his country in the U.S. Army; he had served in Afghanistan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margaret McCaig and Spruell King; and his great-grandparents, Paul and Martha Hurst, Lucille Allen, and Frank and Sally Staggs.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel.
Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be Noah White, Anthony Cochran, Jimmy May, Brian Finley, Tony Landers and Kevin Wright.
Dakota is survived by his father, Edward Earl King; his mother, Anita Staggs; a sister, Lindsey King; a brother, Adam Yarbrough King; his grandparents, Mary Staggs and J.R. Staggs; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made toward Dakota's funeral expenses to an account set up in his name at Citizen's Bank.
Spry Chapel assisted the family.
Lula D. Nichols

Lula D. Nichols, age 92, of Red Bay, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Nichols was born June 16, 1914, in Vina, to George and Artivee Palmer Emerson. She was a factory worker with General Bindings in Illinois and a member of Single Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berton Nichols; her parents; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2006, at Free Will Baptist Church in Red Bay with Bro. Tom Scott and Bro. Clint Holcomb officiating. Interment was in Single Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Luke Ramson, Joshua Wigginton, Jamie Jones, Cayce Jones, Synjon Jones, Chris Wigginton and Brett Jones.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by five children, Delmer Nichols and wife Sharon, of Ohio, John Nichols and wife Jean, of Russellville, Elva "Sis" Jones and husband Tulon, of Red Bay, Joe Hammock and wife Janet, of Red Bay, and Jack Hammock and wife Jennifer, of Opelika; two sisters, Eva Nichols of Vina and Ella Nichols of Hodges; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Ray Taylor

Ray Taylor, age 58, of Hackleburg, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006.
Mr. Taylor was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was preceded in death by a son, Avery Chandler; his parents, William Percy, Sr. and Eva Austell Black Taylor; and two brothers, Junior and Terry Taylor.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Grady Parrish officiating. Interment was in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Black, Kenny Marsh, Joe Black, Tracey Terrell, Wayne Black and Larry Weeks.
Mr. Taylor is survived by three daughters, Talina Taylor, Brenda Inman and Kristy Taylor; two sons, Nicky Taylor and Freddie Duncan; a brother, Harold Taylor; a sister, Margaret Everett; and six grandchildren.
