Arrest warrants for a Russellville man have been issued in connection to a home invasion which occurred Wednesday morning.
"The incident occurred sometime before noon on Wednesday," Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
Joshua Todd Tunell, 28, of 501 E. Lauderdale Ave., Russellville, is wanted for questioning in the reported home invasion on Gaines Ave.
Money and a car were taken from the residence, according to police reports.
Hargett said that 77-year-old Pauline White sustained life threatening injuries and is in critical condition at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was found lying on the floor by a family member.
Tunell is a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 145 pounds with short brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red shirt and a skullcap, authorities said.
He was also seen in the Shoals area Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities received a 911 call Wednesday that a man had went to a residence and told them his name, and that he had been in a fight and killed someone in Russellville, Hargett said.
Tuscumbia Police are also seeking Tunnel as a possible suspect of a robbery and burglary around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A man matching Tunell's description unsuccessfully tried to rob a customer at the Dixie Gas on Main Street.
There was a house burglary a couple of blocks away from the station a short time later, Capt. Jim Heffernan, Tuscumbia Police Investigator, said.
Russellville Police continued to work on the case Thursday.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigations brought in their crime unit and were going over the crime scene again to find more evidence.
