Beautification project a step in the right direction

This week the City of Russellville began its beautification project in order to attract more industry to our community. This is a step in the right direction.
Russellville is a thriving community with a good work force, and new business owners should consider it for their new home. As the mayor said last week, appearance makes a lot of difference in recruiting new businesses.
Controlling litter in our community is an easy way for citizens to help with city beautification. City officials can only do so much. Individual citizens should take an active role to preventing litter on the streets.
You know the old slogan Pitch In, which asks everyone to do his or her part and put trash where it goes. Everyone needs to take pride in our community and help keep it clean. If we all Pitch In together, we can keep our community beautiful and help attract new industry.
Our community needs new industry to grow, and generate more revenue for the city. This revenue can be used for more improvements, education, for police and fire protection, or to recruit more industry.
This is a win-win situation for the city and its citizens. So do you part and help make our city and county more beautiful.
