Belgreen opens hoops season vs. Tharptown

The varsity boys and girls basketball teams at Belgreen High School will open the 2006-07 season on Thursday at home against county rival Tharptown.
The Belgreen boys are opening their first season under new head coach Wes Hester, who is taking over for Edwin Mitchell.
Hester has been an assistant coach at Belgreen for several years, first under longtime coach Steve Pounders and then last season under Mitchell.
Hester has also been the head coach for Belgreen's B-Varsity boys team.
Coach Shauna Humphries and the Belgreen girls team will also open on Thursday against Tharptown.
The Wildcats tipped off their first-ever varsity season on Tuesday at home against Paint Rock.
