Jonathan Hurley

Jonathan Hurley, age 20, of Vina, passed away Monday, October 23, 2006.
Mr. Hurley was born in Marion County and was employed as a lumber stacker in a saw mill.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Kerr Hurley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006, at Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Markum officiating. Interment will be in Henson Springs Cemetery in Detroit.
Mr. Hurley is survived by his adopted mother, Wanda Lynn of Cullman; his father, Randy Hurley of Vina; his step-mother, Earnestine Hurley of Vina; two sisters, Amanda Palmer and husband Nathan, of Hamilton, and Janie Hurley of Amory, MS; two brothers, Donald Hurley and Brandon Hurley, both of Vina; a step-sister, Kathy Davis of Cullman; his fiancee, Angela Moore of Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Hamilton Funeral Home assisted the family.
Billy Joe McGuire

Billy Joe McGuire, age 74, of Russellville, passed away Monday, October 23, 2006, at Russellville Hospital.
Mr. McGuire lived all his life in Franklin County and was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude McGuire; five sisters, Earline Aycock, Luddie Chaney, Essie Robertson, Bessie Kirby and Ruby Letson; and three brothers, Homer, Herman and Floyd McGuire.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with John Stancil officiating.
Interment was in Tharptown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rickey Kirby, Rat Allen, Bruce Laverde, Mike McGuire, Carl Robinson and Scotty Robertson.
Mr. McGuire is survived by his wife, Bea McGuire; four children, Carolyn Powell of Antioch, TN, Tim McGuire and wife Christy, of Florence, Freddie McGuire and wife Jana, of New Market, and Bradley McGuire and wife Lori, of Mt. Hope; three step-children, Martha Henderson and husband Ken, of Haleyville, Mary Lou Mann and husband Eddie, of Bear Creek, and Roger Rodgers and wife Becky, of Lincoln; a brother, Jack McGuire of Eva; a sister, Louise (Mamie) Henson of Killen; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Churchill, Amanda Churchill, Brooke Weaver, Anderson McGuire, Harley McGuire, Hannah Latham and Brad Martin; and five step-grandchildren, Tina and Corey Hunt, Keith Dodd, Derek Henderson and Erica Rodgers.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
Bertha Marie Sutherland

Bertha Marie Sutherland, age 85, of Haleyville, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2006.
Mrs. Sutherland was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Author Eugene Sutherland; two daughters, Linda Gail Pinkard and Betty Jean Sutherland; her parents, Lonnie and Maggie Hall Kimbrough; and three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006, at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Vernon Hood officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Barry Sutherland, Bruce Sutherland, Greg Pinkard, Brent Cochran, Phillip Kelley and Donald Cochran.
Mrs. Sutherland is survived by a son, Bobby Gene Sutherland of Haleyville; a sister, Imojean Ricketts of Spruce Pine; five grandchildren, Rhonda Lynn Cochran, Gregory Wade Pinkard, Barry Joe Sutherland, Bruce Dustin Sutherland and Kristy Denise Tidwell; five great-grandchildren, Tasha Brooke Cochran, Amber Nichole Cochran, Joshua Mathew Pinkard, Maggie Elisabeth Pinkard and Lydia Marie Sutherland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
