Next fun event for county residents: The Red Bay Founders Festival

By Staff
The work of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is never done.
On the heels of one of the county's most successful Watermelon Festivals ever, now the Chamber, under the able leadership of Lisa Stockton, turns attention to the Red Bay Founder's Fest.
The Red Bay Founders Fest is set to be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Red Bay City Park in Red Bay.
In conjunction with the Festival, a Beauty Pageant will be held on Sept. 9 at Red Bay School.
Also in connection with Founders Fest, a 5K run will be held on Sept. 23, sponsored by Red Bay Wellcare.
On Sept. 16, the musical entertainment will begin at 11 a.m.
The Festival will feature arts and crafts, food, games, music, an antique car and truck show, antique tractor show and parade, a story time festival, old-time craft demonstrations at Cypress Cove Farm in Red Bay, and a steak sandwich sale by the Franklin County Cattlemen, with proceeds going to support scholarship awards to area high school students.
Quinn's Ranch will hold a walk-a-thon the day of the festival.
Also on Sept. 16, the Red Bay Public Library will be open as well as the Red Bay Museum.
Organizers urge area residents to come out, bring a lawn chair and enjoy a day of fun in Red Bay.
The Chamber does an excellent job organizing the festival and promoting the city of Red Bay. We urge local residents to take advantage of this annual activity and enjoy the Founders Fest!
