Award-winning news anchor, singer and inspirational speaker Lee Marshall is coming to First Baptist Church in Phil Campbell on Sunday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m.
"We're very excited about Lee Marshall coming to First Baptist," said Pastor Scott Moore. "Everyone is welcome to attend."
Marshall, who was placed in a children's home at birth, is also an adoption advocate. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has honored her adoption public awareness efforts, and Congress named her an "Angel in Adoption."
When not delivering the morning news for WAFF-TV in Huntsville, Marshall helps children find permanent homes through her weekly segment called "Kids to Love."
Since the inception of the feature, Lee has introduced 175 children to her viewing audience. 157 of them have found homes.
Marshall is also the recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 2006 Unity Award.
She is frequently on the road, speaking to church services, civic organizations and women's conferences. Marshall's message focuses on "letting go of your past and turning your life around to have a better future," according to her website, www.leemarshallmusic.com.
There will be a covered-dish supper preceding Marshall's visit. The supper begins at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring a dish. No admission will be charged for the service. A love offering will be taken.
First Baptist Church of Phil Campbell is located at 3350 Broad St., directly across from Phil Campbell High School. For more information about the event call 993-5873.
