Bobcats split with Panthers

Kevin Lacey had four hits and Griffin Harris added a solo homer on Saturday as No. 10 Phil Campbell defeated Mars Hill 10-4 in the second game of a doubleheader.
The Panthers (19-10) won the opener 7-4, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh.
The Bobcats (23-8) trailed the second game 4-3 before scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good.
Lacey earned the win in relief.
Harris had a double to go along with his home run, and Randy Cochran and Steven Lacey also had two hits each.
Randy Gooch hit a three-run homer for Mars Hill.
Drew Stutts (6-2) struck out 11 and allowed just five hits in a complete game to win the opener for the Panthers.
He allowed a two-run homer to Harris, but Tripp Holderfield went deep for Mars Hill.
Phil Campbell was scheduled to host Hackleburg in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Paul Wilkins led the Red Devils (15-5, 2-3 Class 1A, Area 13) with three hits in Monday's loss.
Max Weeks and Rodney Barnes each added two hits for Vina, which must beat Marion County Thursday to make the playoffs.
Jon McKinney had three hits to lead Hackleburg (24-9, 5-1), which clinched the area title.
Justin Raper was the winning pitcher.
