Council fills spot on Park Board

The Phil Campbell city council voted at Tuesday's regular meeting to appoint Terry Pounders to the Park and Recreation Board.
Pounders will fill one of two spots left vacant on the board by the recent resignations of Dale Moody and Barbara Moody.
In other personnel business, the council voted 4-2 to approve the fire department's recommendation to add Billy Burks, Michael Mays, Gary Reed and Lekita Hovater to the volunteer roster.
In other business, council member Bob Carden reported that Steve Cooper has volunteered to build two commercial dumpsters for the city for $1,900 each. Carden said work has begun on the dumpsters, and he expects at least one of them to be finished within the next couple of weeks.
Finally, the council approved the minutes from the previous meeting and voted to pay the bills.
The next regularly scheduled council meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 4. The meeting will be held at City Hall in Phil Campbell.
