Five charged after shakedown

Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said a two-hour period Tuesday night was bad for five inmates.
Plott, all his full-time staff and all his reserves conducted a search of the Franklin County Jail Tuesday for drugs, weapons or escape tools.
The search resulted in new criminal charges for five of the county inmates.
"We do these searches routinely," Plott said. "It was a thorough inspection."
