Eagles edge Red Bay in final at bat

Covenant Christian scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning on Tuesday, capping off a comeback victory over Red Bay.
The visiting Tigers (6-3) led 7-3 after scoring four runs in the top of the fourth, but the Eagles scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the fifth to tie the game.
Morgan Stanfield started for Red Bay and pitched 4 2/3 innings. Brandon Brown relieved in the fifth inning and ended up taking the loss, striking out three.
Brown led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Cody Armstrong was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Stanfield added a two-run triple.
Nathan Hopkins and Ely Cox each added one hit, and Nicholas Taylor had a double.

Visiting Cordova scored nine runs in the first inning on Saturday, and a comeback attempt by the Tigers fell short.
Brandon Brown went 4-for-4 for Red Bay with a pair of doubles, and Cody Armstrong was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Nathan Hopkins added two hits and an RBI.
Red Bay also lost to Belmont on Saturday, 14-2.
The Tigers were scheduled to play at Phillips on Thursday afternoon.
