County schools using web site to keep parents, students informed

By Staff
Jonathan Willis FCT Staff Writer
The Franklin County school system is offering a new way to keep parents and students at all of the county schools informed.
From sports schedules to board meeting information, the system has updated its web site, www.franklin.k12.al.us, to include the most recent happenings from each school.
With six schools in the system, there are always events taking place that many people do not know about.
In the future, Burks hopes to be able to broadcast live events such as the school board meetings and ball games over the Internet, but the system needs help from the community if that is to become a reality.
The site has been in service for about two years, but Burks said that he wants to upgrade and maintain it so that it will be more easily accessible and beneficial to everyone.
For information on advertising on the site, contact Burks at his email address: timburks@franklin.k12.al.us.
