FCSD makes three arrests

Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies arrested two Red Bay men over the weekend on drug charges, Sheriff Larry Plott said.
According to investigators, Jamie Keith Martin, 27, of 101 Nixon Circle in Red Bay, was arrested and charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, identity theft, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of marijuana. The distribution charge is a Class B felony, punishable by 2-20 years in prison. The identity theft charge and drug possession charge are both Class C felonies, punishable by 1-10 years in prison.
Also arrested was Michael Wade McCalpin, 35, of 126 Dees Road in Red Bay. He is charged with five counts of attempting to commit a controlled substance crime and identity theft. Plott said the investigation into the case is ongoing, and other arrests could be forthcoming.
In an unrelated case, deputies, along with a special agent from the Alabama Attorney General's office, arrested a Russellville woman Friday who was indicted last month by a grand jury.
According to a press release from Attorney General Investigator Chris McCrae, Rhonda M. Keelon, 36, of 507 Jefferson Street in Russellville, was arrested and charged with second-degree theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
McCrae said Keelon is accused of stealing a credit card from a local resident who was a "social friend" to her and using the card more than 150 times to fraudulently charge more than $7,000 of purchases all around north Alabama.
Keelon had evaded arrest for the past several weeks, McCrae said. She was released Sunday from the Franklin County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Both charges against Keelon are Class C felonies, punishable by 1-10 years in prison upon conviction.
