FAYETTE - Brandon Clement scored 18 points on Wednesday, including a desperation heave from beyond midcourt to force overtime, as Hackleburg handed Belgreen it's fourth straight loss, a 58-54 defeat in consolation action at the Fayette Lions Club Tournament.
The Bulldogs (4-8) led by two when Andrew Cansler was fouled with just a few seconds remaining in regulation.
Cansler hit the first free throw but missed the second, and Clement tracked down the rebound and took a few dribbles before launching his game-tying shot as time expired.
The Panthers then out-scored Belgreen 9-5 in overtime.
Nathan Hamilton led Belgreen with 15 points. Cansler added 12, and Avis Smith had 11. Cody Rikard finished with 10 points.
Tranon Frederick added 13 points for Hackleburg.
Belgreen led 14-6 after one quarter, but the Panthers rallied to tie the game 35-35 heading to the fourth.
Belgreen returns to action on January 4 at home against area rival Red Bay.
