Russellville Police arrested a man and are searching for a woman in connection with a robbery that took place early Monday morning.
RPD Investigator Capt. David Hester said Martin Luther Hill, 36, of 1003 South Washington Ave. was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree robbery and unauthorized use of a motorized vehicle, which is a "carjacking" charge, a Class B felony.
Hester said a local Hispanic male reported the robbery around 2:37 a.m. Monday. The victim reported being robbed at knifepoint by an African-American male and a white female. The victim also reported that his car had been taken.
RPD officer Brian Shackleford later spotted the vehicle on U.S. 43 in Russellville and pulled the vehicle over near a local motel. Two suspects then fled on foot, and Hill was detained and later arrested.
Hester said he obtained enough information to take out a warrant for the arrest of Shelia Cosby Mobley, 32, of Haleyville. Mobley is suspected to be in the area and was allegedly involved in the robbery. Mobley has a history of theft and drug charges, Hester said.
She is wanted on warrants for first-degree robbery and a carjacking charge.
Hester said other information obtained during the incident led to a search of Russell Devilla Apartments on Tuesday for suspected crack cocaine transactions.
During the search, Hester said Andrea Hamilton, 22, of Russell Devilla Apartments in Russellville, was arrested on two misdemeanor drug charges, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and illegal possession of prescription medication. She was later released on $3,000 bond.
Hester said anyone with any information on Mobley's whereabouts should contact police at 332-2230.
