Early goals propel ECCC

DECATUR The East Central Community College Warriors scored three first-half goals in opening their 2004 soccer season with a 4-1 win over East Mississippi Community College Saturday.
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead barely three minutes into the match when David Prewitt headed a high pass from Diego Perez into the net.
Midway through the first half, Taylor Nichols booted a close-range kick into the upper left corner of the goal.
In the final three minutes of the first half, Kyle Vowell added another goal from close range for a 3-0 lead.
A 3-0 halftime deficit was too much for the Lions to make up.
