Rain couldn't hold off the Buddy McGhee Golf Tournament forever.
Briarwood Country Club will hold the annual six-person scramble on Saturday and Sunday after rain postponed the event, which was originally scheduled for June 26-27.
Club pro Rob McGraw said the tournament honors one of Briarwood's founding members and is one of the club's most light-hearted annual events.
McGraw said about 40 teams have already signed up for the tournament, and additional teams are being accepted on a limited basis at $55 per golfer. The tournament is open to the general public as well as members of Briarwood Country Club.
The tournament will be played on Briarwood's 6,600-yard course, which McGraw said has held up well during the long, hot summer.
