    Mr. Stack served on the Executive Board of the Choctaw Area Council since the late 1960s. Since that time he has given generously of his time, talent and economic support. He is a National Council representative and has been recognized by the Choctaw Area Council who by awarding him the Silver Beaver in 1976 and the Good Shepherd Award. The Choctaw Area Council, Boy Scouts of America recognized Mr. Stack by naming the 1990 class of Eagle Scouts in his honor.
    He was a loyal and dedicated member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church where he was a lifetime deacon. He was a member of the Board of Directors of InTouch Ministries at First Baptist Church in Atlanta, and was a member of the advisory committee of the Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He is one of the founders of the Religious Roundtable. In 1965 the National Religious Foundation in Washington, D.C., recognized him as the "Religious Man of the Year."
    He will be remembered as a man of refreshing and exciting faith in God with a heart as big as the great out of doors. He was a successful businessman who always gave God all the glory of his success.
    Survivors include his wife, Madge English Stack of Meridian; sons, John E. Stack III of Dubach, La., and Charles S. Stack of Jackson; a daughter, Diane Stack Ross of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Agnes Stevens Wade of Leander, Texas.
    Memorials may be made to InTouch Ministries, c/o Dr. Charles Stanley of Atlanta, Ga.
    Visitation will be Friday 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

    Services for Frankie L. Brown will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Living Water with the Rev. Roosevelt Anderson officiating. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Brown, 62, of Meridian, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include his son, Eric Brown; sisters, Velma P. Rice, Angeline Young and Mary A. Brown, all of Meridian.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    Visitation will be Friday 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Retired nurse
    Services for Juanita McGowan will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lauderdale with the Rev. Obdiah Clemons officiating. Burial will be the church cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. McGowan, 79, of New Orleans, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at Memorial Baptist Hospital.
    Survivors include her sisters, Edna Munn and Annie Serto, both of Lauderdale, and Lucille Nash of Macon; brothers, John L. Gordon and L.C. Brown, both of Meridian, and Amos Gordon of Chicago.
    Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Retired
    WHITING, N.J. Services for Elsie Brown Martinsen Oldhaff were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Keyes officiating. Burial was in Whiting Memorial Cemetery.
    Mrs. Oldhaff, 82, of Whiting, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, in her home. She lived in the Causeyville and Vimville areas before her marriage to Arthur Martinsen who was stationed with the Armed Forces at Key Field. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. many years ago and is retired from Macey's Department Store.
    Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Swanner and her husband, Bo, of Toomsuba; a son, Arthur Martinsen of Atlantic City, N.J.; sisters, Opal Harrison of Meridian and Cecile Stokley and her husband, R.W., of Collinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her brothers, Everette Brown, Charles Brown, Jeff Brown, Fred Brown and Robert Brown; and her parents, Everette and Mary Brown of Chunky.
    Homemaker
    Services for Leota Smith Brunson were held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tom Sikes officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
    Mrs. Brunson, 83, of Meridian, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in her home. She was born in Meridian and lived in her birthplace for most of her life. She was active in the community and will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker, loving mother and avid gardener. She was a life long member of First Christian Church in Meridian.
    Survivors include a son, Max Brunson Jr. of Covington, La.; a granddaughter, Holly Brunson of Covington; a sister, Peggy Britt of Pascagoula; nieces, Robbie Morrison of Meridian, Mary Ida Davis of Jackson and Marcia Ann Overstreet of Decatur, Ala.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, H.M. "Max" Brunson Sr.; and a son, Bob Brunson.
    Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1301 23rd Ave., Meridian MS 39302.
    Pallbearers were Fred Poitevent, Richard Wilbourn, Joe Middlebrook, Lee Randle, Charles Overstreet, Walter McKeller, Bob Brock and Tommy Brock.
    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Imogene E. Lockett, 90, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Kathleen Miles, 89, of Meridian, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, in her home.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Enterprise Funeral Home for Tommie Lee Scott Jr., 23, of Norfolk, Va., who died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in Norfolk.
    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Olivia Brown, 88, formerly of Bailey, who died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
