Locals officials issued a "boil water" notice Thursday for people who get their drinking water from the North Lauderdale Water Association in Lauderdale County.
The area affected runs from the intersection of Highway 495 and King Road, south on King Road and including Windsor Road.
Service will be shut off beginning at 10 a.m. today in order to tie in a new water line. The work will take four to six hours.
Customers in this area will be under a boil water notice until further notice. Users will be notified when tests show the water is safe; until then, customers should vigorously boil water for one minute before it is consumed.
