A federal grand jury on Thursday handed down an indictment against McElroy Hollowell for threatening the life of President George Bush.
The indictment was in U.S. District Court, Southern District of Mississippi.
Details were unavailable, but Sheila Wilbanks, a spokesman for U.S. Attorney Dunn Lampton, released a brief statement.
It is unknown whether Hollowell still lives in the Meridian area. Quinn Carlisle, dean of Student Services at Meridian Community College, confirmed Thursday that Hollowell had been a student this term, but is no longer in school.
Privacy laws, Carlisle said, prevented him from making any further comment.
