Enterprise High School clinched the Region 7-2A baseball championship with a 5-2 road win over Seminary on Thursday night.
Wade Weathers (9-1) struck out 16 and allowed just one hit for the Bulldogs, who moved to 17-5 overall and 10-1 in league play.
Enterprise scored three runs in the second and single runs in the third and fifth.
Andrew McKenzie was the losing pitcher for Seminary, allowing just five hits in the process. Seminary is now 21-7 on the season.
Carthage 10
SE Lauderdale 1
Josh Denson ripped a homer, double and single and picked up the win on the mound as Carthage took a 10-1 win over Southeast Lauderdale in Region 5-3A play on Thursday.
Chris Butler had three hits for the SEL Tigers, while Stephen Boyd had one.
Adams Christian 11-15
Lamar School 1-5
The visiting Lamar School Raiders dropped a pair of division games to Adams County Christian School on Thursday.
Denver Harrison picked up a double in the first game for Lamar, which the Raiders dropped 11-1. Jeremiah Lovett (1-4) was the losing pitcher.
Drew Moffett homered, singled and drove in three runs for the Raiders in the nightcap, as Lamar lost 15-5.
Everett Hill added a single and double for the Raiders, while Brannon Harrison (1-4) took the loss on the mound.
Lamar returns to action on Tuesday as Central Private pays a visit to Jim Wall Field.
Heidelberg 11
Sylva-Bay 0
The homestanding Heidelberg Rebels kept its overall and district record perfect, as they took an 11-0 win over the Saints of Sylva-Bay Academy on
Thursday.
HA is now 18-0 and 8-0 in MPSA District 3-A. Paul Zeagler, 6-0, picked up the win, tossing four innings with five strikeouts and two walks, giving up one hit. Ian Sharp pitched the last inning.
The Rebels scored six runs in the first inning on the strength of a home run by Zeagler, a double by Brooks Lewis and a single by Derek Griffin. Also collecting hits, all in the fourth, were Justin Gibbs with a double, Griffin and J.R. Stephenson with a single.
Heidelberg will play again Tuesday as the Rebels take on Central Academy in another District 3-A contest. The varsity game is set for 6 p.m.

West Lauderdale 5
Carthage 0
West Lauderdale lost only nine games as it cruised to a win over Carthage on the tennis courts on Thursday.
Kasey Hedgepeth beat Alison Martin 6-0, 6-2 in girls singles, while Elliot Clark beat Jeremy Fortenberry 6-0, 6-1 in boys singles.
Boys doubles action saw Eric Smith and Josh Sonak roll past Richie Long and Kyle Jones 6-0, 6-3. The girls doubles team of Lea Cook and Nancy Siefker beat Jenna Sellers and Shelly Osborne 6-0, 6-2.
The WL mixed doubles team of Matt Schanrock and Brook Bounds beat Anna Lucovich and Jason Long 6-0, 6-1.
JUCO SOFTBALL
Meridian CC 6-7
Hinds 1-6
The Lady Eagles of Meridian Community College swept a pair of road MACJC Central Division softball games over Hinds Community College on Thursday to climb to 10-23 overall, and more importantly, 5-1 in league play.
Meridian won the opener 6-1 behind the six-hit pitching of Kirby Shelby (4-8). Shelby also led MCC at the plate with two singles and a double.
MCC scored six runs in the third inning and then held on for a 7-6 win over Hinds.
Winning pitcher Stephanie Choo (6-14) had a double and three RBIs for Meridian, while Shelby and Katie Barnett had two hits each.
East Central 4-5
East Mississippi 0-2
The Lady Warriors of East Central moved to 16-10 overall with a sweep of homestanding East Mississippi Community College on Thursday.
East Central got three hits each out of Marley Smith, Alana Moore and Shelly Ferguson in the 4-0 win to open the day. Smith (8-4) was the winning pitcher.
Smith and Kotrece Bender had a double each for ECCC in the nightcap as the Lady Warriors won 5-2. Laura Barrett (6-6) was the winning pitcher.
