Clarkdale looks to turn things around

By By Will Bardwell / staff writer

Better depth and better attitudes have Steve Marlow looking for a turnaround season at Clarkdale.
The Bulldogs bring just two seniors to this year's baseball squad, but after a 12-14 season in 2003 in which Clarkdale was forced to field a young team, second-year head coach Marlow says experience now abounds.
Marlow said after last year's campaign, the Bulldogs went straight to the weight room and worked on conditioning until practice began.
But the biggest change, according to Marlow, is the team's attitude.
One of the team's greatest strengths, Marlow said, is its pitching depth.
Though infielder Micheal Davis will miss the season-opener, Marlow said he will return in time to contribute.
Brent Mabry will also contribute in the infield.
But Marlow is quick to re-focus attention on the entire team and not just individuals.
