Clarkdale searches for coach

After having three different head football coaches in a year, Clarkdale Attendance Center finds itself searching once again.
The school is conducting an open search for a head football coach after interim head coach Joey Ethridge finished the 2003 season. He replaced Gary Lee, who quit abruptly after the Bulldogs' 0-2 start. Lee was hired to replace former head coach Bubba Hathorn, who led Clarkdale to the state playoffs and 7-4 record in 2002.
The search began shortly after the 2003 season ended. Clarkdale finished 2-8, but the team won two straight against Lake and Williams-Sullivan and came up just short of a playoff berth in Division 5-2A.
Miller said the search started slowly, but she has received "five or six" applications, including a couple of out-of-state applicants.
Ethridge will remain at Clarkdale, Miller said, and will likely return to his duties as an assistant coach.
