Rush Hospital honors longtime employees

Dec. 12, 2003
Ann Maxwell was born at Rush Foundation Hospital. In 1978, straight out of Matty Hersee Nursing School, she took a job at the hospital.
On Thursday, 25 years later, Maxwell and 11 other employees of Rush Health Systems were honored with induction into Rush's 25-Year Club. They were recognized at a luncheon at Northwood Country Club.
Guests at the luncheon enjoyed a buffet and were recognized by Ken Purvis, vice president of corporate compliance. They were then presented with gold watches by Chief Executive Officer Wallace Strickland.
Purvis himself was inducted into Rush's 25-year club 10 years ago and knows what an honor it is.
Lisa Eggleston of Russell, a rehabilitation technician at The Specialty Hospital, was another employee honored.
Others inducted on Thursday were asked what kept them working at the same place for 25 years.
The 25-year Club now has about 130 members made up of current and retired employees.
