Knights slay Tigers on soccer field

The West Lauderdale High School boys' soccer team picked up its first division win of the season against Southeat Lauderdale last Monday.
The Knights (2-0) blanked the Tigers 9-0 in the road contest.
Scott Truesdale and Roger Walker combined to pick up the shut out in net for West.
Anthony Thomas recorded a hat trick in the win scoring three goals in the opening half. Jarrod Moulds and Michael Pogue each tallied assists during Thomas' three-goal outburst.
Moulds picked up a goal of his own, and Josh Herrington added a score in the opening half to give the Knights a 5-0 lead at the break.
Zac Foreman scored two goals in the second half, with Corey Rigdon picking up the assist on each score.
Neil Robinson netted a score on a penalty kick, and Dan Confait put in West's final goal of the game.

Sarah Birmingham notched a hat trick in the opening half, as the Lady Knights (2-1) picked up their first divisional win of the season over the Lady Tigers last Monday.
Kylie Rowell and Brittany Uhl each had assists in Birmingham's first-half, three-goal performance.
Rachel Reeves opened the scoring for West with a goal five minutes into the match off a free kick from about 30 yards out.
Vanessa Uhl, Auburn Carlberg and Brittany Uhl each added a goal in the game's opening 40 minuts to take a 7-0 lead into the break.
Casey Hedgepeth picked up the Lady Knights' final goal in the second half, and Southeast scored its lone goal in the game's closing 40 minutes.
Emmy Joyner recorded two saves for the Lady Knights in the first half, and Katie Moulds notched five saves for West in the second half.

Lanier 45
The Lady Wildcats outscored Lanier 42-25 in the second half to overcome a 20-19 halftime deficit to pick up a win Tuesday night.
Brittany Davidson tallied a game-high 24 points for Meridian High, and Courtney Wade added 19 in the win.
Eva Price scored 18 for Lanier in the loss.
Carthage (boys) 70
Union 63
Dexter Leflore scored a game-high 32 points for Carthage, as the squad improved its record to 3-3 with a win over Union.
Timmy Thompson added 24 for Carthage in the win.
Anthony Johnson scored a team-high 18 for Union (0-3), and James Harris and Jacob Casey added 13 and 10, respectively, in the loss.

Alisa Matlock and Amanda Schmidt each tallied 10 points, as Carthage improved its record to 4-3 with a win over Union.
Lauren White scored a game-high 15 ponts for Union (0-4), and Sheree Calloway added 11 in the loss.

Bobby Goodin scored a game-high 21 points to help Philadelphia (3-1) pick up a win over Neshoba Central.
John Williams tallied 11 points for Philadelphia, and Eric Lyons added 10 in the win.
Eric Smith scored a team-high 14 points for Neshoba Central (3-6), and Anthony Jones added 12.

Oak Hill Aca. 57
Charlie Lavender notched a game-high 23 points for Leake Academy in the squad's win over Oak Hill Academy on Tuesday.
Brian Henry added 18 points for Leake, and Daniel Jones scored 16 in the win.
Britton Burroughs scored a team-high 17 points for Oak Hill (3-2), and Lennart Seathoff and Zach Avant added 11 and 10, respectively.

Kristin Caldwell tallied 18 points to lead Leake Academy over Oak Hill Academy on Tuesday night.
Greggina Tadlock scored 13 points for Leake, and Caroline Dees added 11 in the win.
Lindsey Trenor notched a team-high 11 points for Oak Hill (5-2).

Travis Stephens and Andre Stephens each scored 14 points, as Heidelberg (1-0) picked up its first win of the season over Laurel on Tuesday.
Jordan Pierce added 11 points for Heidelberg in the win.
Corey Roberts scored a team-high 18 points for Laurel, and Bernondre Laster and Donyell Marsch each notched 10 in the loss.

Princess Bender tallied a game-high 33 points for Heidelberg (1-0) in a win over Laurel on Tuesday.
Shawana Stevens scored 18 points for Heidelberg, and Moneshia Cooley and Keyaria James added 14 and 12, respectively.
Rena McCullum scored a team-high 14 points for Laurel, and Alphaka Moore tallied 13. Shasta Husband notched 11 points, and Nikita Smith added 10 in the loss.

Pierre Barlow and Dakari Murray each scored 17 points, as Scott Central improved its record to 5-0 with a win over Newton.
Cornelius Caraway tallied 20 points for Newton (2-3), and Courtney Ruffin and Brandon Shelton added 15 and 10, respectively.

Jessica Anderson led the Newton girls' team with 18 points in a win over Scott Central.
Rosalind Jones scored 11 for Newton, which improved its record to 5-1.
Elysa Clay scored a team-high 11 points for Scott Central (4-1).

Justin Eaves notched a team-high 14 for Winston Academy in the team's win over Heritage Academy.
Taylor Paschal scored 13 for Winston, and Jon Duncan and Patrick Peterson added 12 and 10, respectively.
Stephen Sanford scored a game-high 17 points for Heritage, and Nathan Kober added 16 in the loss.

Hattiesburg 45
Sandra McMilliam paced Bay Springs' offense with a team-high 16 points, and Jasmine Payne added 11 in a win over Hattiesburg.
Kristi Martin and Nadosha Strickland each tallied 10 points for Bay Springs in the win.
Brittany Blackston scored a game-high 24 points for Hattiesburg.
