Luckett, Shepherd

Miranda Shea Shepherd and Robert Cratin Luckett Jr. were married Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Meridian with the Rev. Matthew Simmons officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McElvin Shepherd of Butler, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cratin Luckett Sr. of Richland.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Clarke Anthony Thornton and the late Louise Bonner Thornton, and the late Joseph Shepherd and the late Merle Ousley Shepherd.
The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mervin E. Anderson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard O. Luckett of Jackson.
Nuptial music was provided by Ed Nobles, organist; Charles McLendon, trumpeter; Susie Morgan, pianist; Cheryl McBride and Frank Calloway, vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless gown with a bodice featuring an illusion band accented with intricate beading of rocals, rhinestones and metallic embroidery. The gown flowed into a chapel-length train with beaded buttons enhancing the back of the gown. She wore a cathedral-length veil with tiny seed pearls and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, rust calla's and stephanotis.
Emily Shepherd of Butler, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Lacy Nixon of Richland, sister of the bridegroom, served as matron of honor. Other attendants were Tracy Boyd and Deidre Cartee of Birmingham, Sommer Curry of Camden, Conchela Hearn of Birmingham, Angela Jones, cousin of the bride, and Beverly Kitchens of Jackson, Jaime Love of Kimberly, Lindsey Marks of Helena, Sarah Rolison of Butler, Sharla Sanders of Columbiana and Aimee Weathers of Anniston.
Serving as flower girls were Abby Marks, god-daughter of the bride, Alexandria Slocum, cousin of the bride, Jean-Nicholette Nixon and Lainee-Luckett Nixon, cousins of the bridegroom.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Benje Bailey of Brandon, William Burnham, Phillip Cothren, Josh Gianola, Cory Harper, Doug Hindman, Thomas Jenkins, Jimmy Kitchens and Brad Maley, all of Jackson, Mike Hurst of Washington, D.C., Rod Nixon of Richland, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Jason Brown of Oxford, Lawrence Coco of Jackson, Trey Hannah and Dallas Hannah, both of Meridian and cousins of the bride.
The guest book attendant was Whitney Olivier and Abby Olivier.
A reception was held at the Meridian Little Theatre following the ceremony.
An after-rehearsal dinner party was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at Briarwood Country Club.
After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple resides in Jackson.
