EMCC takes win over ECCC

SCOOBA East Mississippi Community College's Lions outscored East Central Community College 15-2 over the final 3:46 to take a 92-83 win over the Warriors Thursday night at Keyes Currie Coliseum.
The win was EMCC's first after two losses. ECCC fell to 1-2.
ECCC led 70-58 with 9:28 remaining after Jamaal Martin, Shaun Dougherty, and Tawon Walker each hit a 3-point basket.
Chris Davis hit a pair of treys and Joseph Collins had six points as the Lions rallied to within 77-75 with 5:21 left.
The Lions took their first lead since 21-20 when Collins connected on a baby hook with 2:15 showing for an 82-81 advantage.
EMCC made all eight of its free throws during the final 1:47 to get its first win.
Phillip Lockhart led EMCC with 23 points. Collins scored 18, Calvin Moore tossed in 13, Marcus Houston had 10, Davis eight, and Boo Ramsey seven.

Hot shooting from 3-point range in the first half enabled the Lady Warriors to erase a six-point deficit and turn it into a 50-33 halftime lead. ECCC had eight treys in the first half.
