Police search for suspect in robbery

Meridian police searched for an armed robbery suspect Friday, after a man reportedly robbed El Cheapos Discount Beer &Tobacco House on Highway 493.
The robbery happened at about 7:15 p.m.
A gun was reportedly fired by the suspect in the store during the robbery, but no one was hurt.
The suspect, who reportedly took a cash drawer and fled on foot behind the store, was described as a black man, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a black coat, white T-shirt, dark glasses and a cap.
