PHILADELPHIA Services for Helen Hofmister will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jason Sebren officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Hofmister, 73, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Cecelia Nabors of Kosciusko, Rita Sebren of Brandon, Debbie Burkes of Philadelphia, Donna Smith of Meridian and Angie Keller of Montgomery, Ala.; a son, Don Hofmister of Kosciusko; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hofmister.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired Burlington Industries
Services for Freddie Mae Reynolds will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kim Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mrs. Reynolds, 74, of Meridian, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, in her home. She was a retired supervisor from Burlington Industries in Stonewall and attended Evangel Temple.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Gagliano and her husband, Joe, of Orange Beach, Ala., Belinda Adcock and her husband, Jim, of Meehan and Amy Butler and her husband, Martin Ray, of Whynot; sons, Owen C. Reynolds Jr. and his wife, Beth, of Alba, Texas, and David Cubbage and his wife, Maye, of Lucedale; sisters, Shirley Griffin and her husband, Daryl, of Mobile, Ala., and Pearl Tylick of Pensacola, Fla.; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen C. Reynolds; a son, Fredrick C. Reynolds; parents, Charlie and Alma McAllister; and a sister, Maude Conerly.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired housekeeping supervisor
MOSS POINT Services for Frances M. George Strong will be held today at 7 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church of Hurley with the Revs. Tim Mains and Jerry Hamilton officiating. Another service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Tucker Chapel in Kemper County, near Philadelphia. Burial will be in Tucker Cemetery.
Mrs. Strong, 79, of Moss Point, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, in her home. She was a retired housekeeping supervisor from Singing River Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Faye Carter and her husband, Charles, and Mavis Havis and her husband, J.B., all of Hurley; a son, James Larry George and his wife, Patsy, of Lucedale; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church of Hurley and Wednesday noon to 2 p.m. at Tucker Chapel.
Graveside services for Frances Willard Burt Godwin were held Monday at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery near Pennington, Ala. with the Rev. Steve Bruce officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Godwin, 84, a lifelong resident of Meridian, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Heartfelt Hospice. She was a volunteer with the Salvation Army for many years. She will be remembered as a lady who loved her family, was very outspoken, loved baseball, loved to cook, loved shoes, flowers and plants.
Survivors include her only child, Olan Randall "Randy" Horner and his wife, Betty Carol Harvey Horner; grandchildren, Randall Grey Horner and his wife, Rachel, and Kimberly Carol Horner Culpepper and her husband, David; great-grandchildren, James Grey Horner, Brooks David Culpepper and Dylan Randall Culpepper; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Virgil Godwin; her parents, William L. Burt and Isabell Litchfield Burt; brothers, Oscar Burt, J.C. "Clayborn" Burt and T.C. Burt.
