Carr, Jones

Kelly Frances Jones and Benjamin Matthew Carr were married Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala. The Rev. Dr. Gary Dale Fenton officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wilson Jones of Birmingham, and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Holmes Carr of Atlanta.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Willis Earl Perkins of Meridian and the late Mr. Perkins, and Mrs. Wilson Jones of Laurel and the late Mr. Jones.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Frank Marshall Child Jr. and the late Mrs. Child, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Curry Carr of Georgia.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a couture gown of French Alencon lace beaded with pearls and crystals. The back of the gown was adorned with satin covered buttons cascading into a chapel-length train. Hersingle tiered veil was anchored by a tiara of pearls and Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of white roses surrounding a single gardenia and a handkerchief accented with lace from her mother's wedding gown.
Matron of honor was Katherine Allen Graves, of Birmingham, Ala., formerly of Meridian. Other attendants were Mimi New Dunn of Roanoke, Ala., Katie Harman Ebner of Gresham, Ore., Emily Doris Foster of Augusta, Ga., Kelly Nicole Gaudet of Miami, Lindsey Cameron Holton of Camilla, Ga., Lindsay Rogers Keith, Melodie Suzanne King, Kathryn Caradine McNeil and Lesley Alicia Vinzant, all of Birmingham, and Laura Perkins of Longview, Texas. Proxy bride was Kristen Leigh Sherer of Birmingham.
The father of the bridegroom and the bridegroom's brother, Dr. Brandon Christopher Carr of Birmingham, served as best men. Groomsmen and ushers were Joshua Leon Garrett, Daniel Wade Gowder and Michael Joseph Walsh Jr., all of Augusta, Ga., Walter Ellis Grubbs and Woodrow Neal Hartzog, both of Birmingham, Matthew Lane Holton of Camilla, Jonathan Micah Palmer of Rockville, Md., Aaron Paige Pelz of Montgomery, Ala., William David Perkins of Longview and Ryan Matthew Reeves of Casselberry, Fla. Junior usher was Blake Austin McCurry of Pell City, Ala.
Program attendants were Anna Lynn Malone, Connie Jo Malone and Kathryn Ayers Malone. Registry attendants were Barbara Cameron Caradine and Asheley Jones Holcomb.
Favor attendants were Charlotte Lane Palmer, Robert Norris Palmer and Sydney Nicole Slaughter.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple resides in Augusta, Ga., where the bridegroom is completing medical school and the bride is employed with the Girl Scout Council of Georgia.
